Hi, I'm Liz

I'm a midwestern girl who lives in Iowa with my amazing husband, Tim and our incredible son Theodore.  I love to cook, entertain family and friends, visit unknown travel destinations, and enjoy the occasional martini.

Top 5

August 11, 2017

What a busy week.  I can't believe we're already back to Friday.  I'm looking forward to spending another relaxing weekend at home.  We've got some play dates planned and gorgeous weather to enjoy.

Happy Friday! Here's this week's Top 5.

1. Love What You Do.  It's really nice when you love what you do and at the same time, you love who you work with.  I spend more time at work than I do at home.  I see my co-workers longer each day than I do my family. I feel incredibly blessed the work I do and the people I work with, align perfectly, creating fulfillment and joy to my every day.  These people are amazing individuals and I feel so lucky to work along side them each and every day - doing work that truly makes a difference.

2. Types of Friends Women Do and Don't Need.  I've been blessed my entire life with some AMAZING female friendships.  Throughout childhood, high school, college and real world - I've made some incredible bonds.  And through them all, I've learned a lot - about what it means to be a friend and the type of friendships I want in my life. I liked this article - it's a great reminder for me to be thankful for the friendships I've kept and continue to nurture, and it makes me feel ok about the friendships I've had to naturally let go of.

3. Summer/Fall Transition.  We're still in summer but as we transition to fall, isn't this a cute ensemble?  Love. Love. Love.

4.Reverse Care Package. My mom and dad were the BEST at sending care packages to me while growing up - while away at camp, college or living on my own in the real world - they always sent sweet packages that meant the world! I found this idea on Pinterest - sending a reverse care package to your parents telling them they are doing a great job at life.  What a fun surprise to flip this around.  You can get more ideas here.
