2 Years Old.

Two years old.

730 days you've made our lives infinitely more amazing.

You are two now sweet Teddy. I feel like a broken record, and I know I'll keep saying this for years to come but: time has FLOWN by. While I wish I could make it stop or creep by a little more slowly - I love how you're growing into such a sweet, positive, confident, funny young "man." Your dad and I couldn't be more proud of who you are becoming.

Things I Hope to Remember About This Age

at 2 years, he's most happy when:

We are all together as a family. Usually playing basketball, mowing the lawn, vacuuming or playing with trucks. We get a lot of "sit down here" so we're close.

the sweetest thing he's ever done:

He just learned how to say, "I Love You" and it melts my heart every time - I don't think I'll ever get sick of hearing those words. He also likes to kiss boo-boo's - his and friends - it's the cutest!

favorite words:

"momma, no no no", "Go Away", and anything mobile, "truck, car, wheel, bus, digger"

favorite activity outside the house:

He loves going to the park, any park. He really started to like riding in his burley this winter so we had fun biking to the parks when the weather was nice. I think we're in for a fun summer!

personality:

Teddy is sweet, curious, energetic, funny, friendly, and determined.

when is he most active?

Teddy has never been the kid who likes to sit. He loves to move around - whether it's playing basketball, running around the house, or switching from one activity to the next. He loves to be outside, mowing the lawn right next to daddy. I love the quiet moments when he's going to bed, or right when he wakes up from an afternoon nap where he's all snuggly: those are moments I try to savor.

ways he's most like Tim:

Teddy is curious, loves to be outside, likes sports, and is a good eater. I love to see Teddy and Tim together. Teddy follows Tim around and is really starting to be "Monkey See Monkey Do" - if dad is doing something, Teddy is right there next to him.

ways he's most like Me:

Teddy is a lot like me in the looks department, I love that he inherited my blond curls! He likes to read, strong willed, easy going and happy.

any traditions we've incorporated in his first two years:

For Teddy's birthday and Christmas, I started a tradition where he gets 4 gifts; read, wear, need and want. Our go-to bedtime song is Hey Jude. We go to the same pumpkin patch every fall.

best friends:

Teddy loves his friend Kale from school. If I had a dollar for every time I heard that name each day... I'd have a lot of dollars. I love that Teddy is able to name all his friends and teaches at school. It's so fun to hear him recite names - you can tell he loves his friends. Outside of school, he loves hanging out with Charlie, Sam, Liam, Grant, Abram and Eva.

favorite food:

Teddy is a pretty good eater. His favorite would be raisins, dried cranberries, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese and all things fruit.

biggest changes:

Teddy's vocabulary is starting to change each day. He's bringing home new words and starting to put words together. I love listening to him and trying to figure out what he's saying.

We celebrated with a fun little party at our home this weekend. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends in our lives who helped us celebrate Teddy turning 2.

We had a car themed party.

Look at this cute cake my mom made. Isn't it darling? (recipe coming soon).

Teddy LOVED it!!

We had a fun sticker table filled with automobile coloring sheets and truck/car stickers.

Teddy has started to get into gift unwrapping. His attention span doesn't last too long, once he opened up a fun new truck, it was game over. He's had so much fun with his new gifts!

We are so thankful to all our friends and family who helped celebrate Teddy! Tim and I both can't wait to see what his 2nd year brings.

Cheers to 2!
