We took a day trip to Nebraska this past weekend and visited the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. It was AMAZING! Teddy had a blast and it was great to have some quality family time.
We started our day at the Petting Zoo. Teddy loved chasing around the goats. We took a train ride around the entire park on the Omaha Zoo Railroad. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the ride!
They had a fun splash pad to cool off on a hot day. Teddy and his cousin, Jensen LOVED splashing around.
There were SO many amazing exhibits. We had no way of fitting everything in. Teddy’s favorite was the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium. It was like walking on the bottom of the ocean while walking through a 70 foot tunnel. Teddy did a lot of Ooooh’s and Ahhhh’s while pounding on the glass – he couldn’t get enough.
We also really loved the Lied Jungle. Although it didn’t smell great, it was fun to explore the natural rainforest environment walking through America’s largest indoor rainforest. There were monkey’s swinging in the open, birds chirping – we even walked close up through a bat cave.
Experiencing our trip through Teddy’s eye’s made everything more fun. It’s so fun to see his eye’s light up and watch the things that excite him. I made a little video to show off our trip. If you’re in the Omaha neighborhood – I would definitely recommend making a trip of it!
Enjoy!
